Agartala, 17th December 2024:  Job-seeking youths staged a protest in front of the Jail Police headquarters near Purbasha here demanding the swift completion of the prison police recruitment exam. The protest was driven by frustration over delays led to a deputation by their representative team.

One of the protesting youths explained that a notice for the recruitment of jail police was issued in December 2022. Shortly thereafter, 249 candidates underwent a physical test. However, the subsequent retained and oral tests have yet to be conducted, stalling the recruitment process.

“We have been waiting for almost a year, and our recruitment process is still incomplete. Despite multiple deputations to request the exams, we haven’t received a satisfactory response,” said one of the job-seekers.

The prolonged delay and lack of communication from the authorities prompted the youths to stage the protest and deliver their deputation directly to the headquarters, highlighting their urgency for a resolution.
