Legal Awareness Camp held at Mangalkhali SB School

Agartala, March 27, 2023: A Legal Awareness Camp was organized at Mangalkhali SB School where its principal Nibaran Nath presided over the programme. District Legal Services Authority of the North Tripura District Secretary Rajashri Chakraborty officially inaugurated the camp. Two lawyers Debahuti Goswami and Sagarika Bhattacharya were present as resource persons. Pradhan and Upa-Pradhan of Mangal Khali Panchayat and school teachers were also present.

Human Rights Act and Rights and Protection of Children Act 2005 to Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act 2012 were discussed by the advocates present in this camp. When a child goes to legal battle, he has the right to receive the highest priority in providing legal services for his care and maintenance.

In the Child Rights Protection Act 2005, it has been said that national and state level commissions will arrange for speedy trial of any crime against children or if any child’s rights are violated, they can take steps for speedy trial in any related matter.

The Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act states that the act will act to protect children from sexual abuse, any act related to sex, to prosecute such offences, the advocates added.
