Lockdown at Jaykatpur HS School as protest against teacher transfer intensifies

Agartala, 13^th June 2025:   Students and guardians of Jaykatpur Higher Secondary School in Hrishyamukh block staged a protest today locking the school premises in response to the transfer of a key science teacher. The demonstration began at 10 am saw concerned guardians demand an explanation for the relocation of science teacher Arjun Debnath without an immediate replacement. 

Protesters urged school staff to refrain from opening the premises, with teachers maintaining a silent stance in one corner of the compound. Despite the issue being reported to the District Education Department, no officials or school inspectors have been seen at the site, fueling growing frustration among the guardians. 

The locality continues to seek intervention from authorities, emphasizing the impact of the transfer on students’ education.
