Agartala, 11th February 2026: The Tripura State Legal Services Authority (TSLSA) is set to conduct a Mega Lok Adalat across the state on February 14 as part of its ongoing efforts to reduce the growing backlog of court cases.
In addition to the four National Lok Adalats organized annually, this special Mega Lok Adalat is being arranged to further ease the pressure on the judiciary. Comprehensive preparations have been made in all district and sub-divisional courts to ensure the smooth functioning of the event.
During the Mega Lok Adalat, 28 benches will take up a total of 23,698 cases for disposal. These include 18,368 cases under the Motor Vehicles (MV) Act, 4,503 cases related to the TP Act, 207 cases under the TG Act, and 620 cases under the Excise Act.
Jhuma Dutta Chowdhury, Member Secretary of the Tripura State Legal Services Authority, stated that notices have already been served to the parties involved in the listed cases.
She also informed that Pre-Lok Adalat sessions are being conducted at all District Legal Services Authority offices from February 9 to February 13, 2026. These sessions provide an opportunity for parties to settle their disputes ahead of the Mega Lok Adalat.
Appealing to the public, Chowdhury encouraged all concerned individuals to make the most of this initiative to resolve their cases swiftly and without incurring legal costs.
