Agartala, 17th May 2025 : A civil defense mock drill was successfully conducted at Bilthai PM Shri Class XII School under Panisagar subdivision, aiming to enhance preparedness for emergency situations. The initiative was led by Panisagar Block Development Officer.
The drill saw participation of Panisagar BDO Manas Bhattacharjee, representatives from the Panisagar Fire Department and officers from the Panisagar Subdivision Health Department. Civil defense volunteers, fire service personnel, disaster response volunteers and health department staff actively engaged in the event to ensure a comprehensive emergency response demonstration.
The exercise was conducted in alignment with directives issued by the Principal Secretary of the State Revenue Department and the Central Government’s National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). These directives were established following emergency meetings held from May 7 to May 9, considering potential wartime scenarios. The state government has instructed all districts, subdivisions, and blocks to conduct awareness-enhancing drills under the guidance of VOIC authorities.
The mock drill, carried out on the afternoon of May 17, effectively raised awareness among residents and school authorities at Bilthai school and across the Panisagar block. Officials emphasized the importance of such preparedness exercises in mitigating risks and ensuring swift responses during crises.
