Agartala, 27th November 2025: The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD)-sponsored Farmers Producer Company (FPO), Bagma Agri Producer Company Limited (BAPCL), has successfully launched the Krishakneer Agri Producer Company Limited at Ramchandraghat under Khowai for the benefit of farmers by enhancing their income. BAPCL has now become a Producer Organisation Promoting Institution (POPI) for the benefit of FPOs in the state.
The inauguration programme of the Krishakneer Agri Producer Company Limited has been successfully completed yesterday in the presence of Anil S. Kotmire, GM of NABARD, Tripura Regional Office; Dr. Manoj Singh Sachan, Head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Khowai District; Dr. Farukul Islam, CEO of BAPCL; Niranjan Debnath, Managing Director of Krishakneer FPC; Amit Das, District Development Manager of NABARD for Khowai and Dhalai Districts; and other dignitaries who have attended the programme.
BAPCL has been doing its level best to establish a business-oriented culture through FPOs and FPCs in the state. It has been expected that the Krishakneer FPC might earn a profit of at least Rs. 10 crore in the coming years. There has been an opportunity for farmers to earn higher income from their agricultural activities through FPCs in the future, said Anil S. Kotmire, GM of NABARD, during his speech at the programme.
Dr. Farukul Islam, CEO, has shared his past experiences regarding FPO and FPC formation in the state. He said that the future of FPOs in the state has remained highly relevant for the benefit of farmers and their agricultural activities. He also stated that BAPCL has started its journey as a Farmers Club in the state, but its turnover has reached Rs. 6 crore.
The launch of Krishakneer Agri Producer Company Limited is expected to provide a new platform for farmers of Khowai district, enabling them to harness collective strength, improve production efficiency, and enhance their overall livelihood prospects.
