Agartala, 14th February 2026: A multi-disciplinary organization NB Institute for Rural Technology (NBIRT) inaugurate the Skill Development Training Program on ‘PASTRY CAKE MAKING’ on 14th February 2026 at Arkaneer, Sekerkote, West Tripura with the aim of making women self – reliant and showing them ways to earn an income by starting home based enterprises.
On this auspicious occasion, Dr. Chitra Pal, former Principal of Ramthakur Degree College was present as the Chief Guest and Nibedita Roy Kar, Cluster Coordinator, TRLM under Dukli RD Block attended as the Special Guest.
Besides them, Mohit Lal Acharjee, Sr. Executive Member, NBIRT, Er. P.L. Ghosh, Technical Adviser, Arkaneer, Anup Dey, Project Officer, NBIRT, Debasree Das, Master Trainer of Pastry Cake making and other officials of Arkaneer were present.
Women from rural/urban area attended as participants in this training program and and they are bearing the entire cost of this training program. The participants will receive hands on training in this trade until 19th Feb. 2026. The organizing authority has informed that, such initiative is the first time, is being held at Arkaneer. At the occasion, Project Officer, NBIRT Anup Dey highlighted the objectives of the said training program.
Later, all the guests inaugurated the training program by watering a plant.While delivering his speech, Arkaneer’s Sr. Executive member, Engineer Ghosh, emphasized the importance of self-reliance.
While delivering the speech as the Special Guest, Nivedita Ray Kar, Cluster Coordinator of TRLM under Dukli RD block, emphasized women’s empowerment and the importance of women’s active participation. In this regard, the role of SHGs/clusters is immense. She appreciated and applauded this sincere initiative taken for women under the leadership of the Arkaneer authorities.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Chitra Pal, former Principal of Ramthakur College delivered the importance of aligning skilling efforts with emerging industry demands. She also stated that, in the present time, cottage industries play a very important role for women.
Dr. Pal highly praised the Organization for its innovative ideas taken by ARKANEER to make women self-reliant. The inaugural ceremony concluded with vote of thanks by Er. P.L. Ghosh.
