BY TC News Desk

Agartala, 30th November 2025:  Despite being physically 100% disabled, Kripen Bati Reang has yet to receive a house under the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme. He has been living with his niece for many years and currently resides in Longtharai Valley, Chandai Para. Relatives say that Kripen Bati Reang is around 50 years old and has lost both his parents. Until now, he has been receiving only Rs 2,000 as a monthly allowance.

All his official documents and applications have been submitted to the government again, and he is expected to receive Rs 5,000 in his account. However, despite repeated applications, he has yet to receive a government-provided house. Locals claim that only those affiliated with the ruling party seem to get housing, leaving him dependent on his niece for shelter. Today the NSS department of Chandai Para’s Twelfth Grade School distributed winter clothes and food items to Kripen Bati Reang. During the event, his relatives highlighted his plight and urged the government to take notice of his situation and provide him with a home.
