Agartala, 29th October 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved a financial grant of ₹2 lakh for the advanced cancer treatment of Anita Pal Das, a resident of Champamura under the Khayerpur assembly constituency. The assistance was sanctioned under the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) and disbursed through IDFC Bank to support her treatment at Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute, Guwahati.
The move follows a swift appeal by Lok Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb, who shared the development on social media, expressing gratitude to the Prime Minister. “I express my sincere thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji for sanctioning ₹2 lakh for Anita Pal Das, who is suffering from incurable cancer,” Deb wrote. “When she requested medical assistance, I immediately forwarded it to the PM Relief Fund, and it was sanctioned in a very short time.”
Deb further noted that the Prime Minister has consistently responded with empathy to requests for advanced medical treatment, adding, “Prime Minister Ji has approved almost every request regarding advanced treatment with a sincere eye.”
The sanctioned amount has been transferred to the designated account at IDFC Bank’s Barakathak Road Branch in Guwahati, ensuring timely support for Anita Pal Das’s ongoing treatment.
This case highlights the expedited response mechanism of the PMNRF in addressing urgent medical needs, especially for economically vulnerable patients facing life-threatening conditions.
