Agartala, 5th December 2024: The two-day Gomati District Bal Vaigyanik Pradarshani and one-day Science Seminar 2024-25 were inaugurated on Thursday at Chandrapur Colony Higher Secondary School in Udaipur.
Finance Minister Pranajit Singh Roy inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp. He was accompanied by MLA Abhishek Debroy, Udaipur Municipal Council Chairperson Shital Chandra Majumdar, SDM Trideb Sarkar, District Education Officer Bikash Nath and the headmistress of Chandrapur Colony Higher Secondary School Mousumi Saha.
Following the inauguration, Finance Minister Singha Roy and other guests cut the ribbon to formally open the science exhibition. The event will feature 65 science exhibitions and about 25 science seminars organized by various schools from the Gomati district. Students will present projects on themes such as health, agriculture, communication and transportation systems, and mathematical concepts. Additionally, the event will include quizzes, cultural programs, and debate competitions.
In his address, Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy emphasized the importance of such programs in enhancing the talents and character of students. “These programs not only enhance the talent of students but also develop their character. Students must be inspired to be innovative and creative beyond conventional thinking, and emphasis should be placed on artificial intelligence,” he said. He also advised teachers to provide proper guidance for student science exhibitions.
The minister highlighted the state government’s commitment to integrating science into education. “The state government has many ideas regarding science in education, and it is encouraging to see such enthusiasm among students and teachers,” he added.
The presence of a large number of students and teachers at the event highlighted the significance of science education and the community’s support for such initiatives.
