Pratima Bhoumik distributes tricycles among 94 ‘Divyangjans’ at Bamutia

Agartala, July 10, 2023: The Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India distributed free motorized tri-cycles among 94 disabled people. This motorized tri-cycle was distributed among 94 people at a cost of 45 lakhs. This camp is organized under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment as a part of the determination of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Bikash’ and to put the most exploited and deprived people in the forefront of the society.

Union minister of state Pratima Bhoumik handed over 94 motorbike tricycles to Divyangjans in this camp at Narsinggarh CRC in Agartala on Monday. She said, “Today is a day of great joy and pride for the people of the state, especially the Dibangi brothers and sisters. I had planned to do such a program in Agartala for a long time, today it has been implemented. Through these materials, they will be able to live a simple life and earn money for themselves.”

This camp is organized by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, NILD Kolkata, ALEMCO. Speaking on the occasion, the union minister of state also said, “I request the Divyang brothers and sisters of the state if they have the correct documents to contact the specified office as soon as possible. If necessary, I am ready to provide 100, 200 or even 300 items.”

While speaking, Pratima Bhowmik also said that 26 crore rupees have been provided by the Government of India to the state government for the benefit of the disabled people to provide ramps to various stands and bus stands, schools and colleges so that the disabled brothers and sisters can reach them easily.

The camp was attended by Paschim Tripur Zilla Parishad’s Sabhadipati in-charge Haridulal Acharya, West Tripura district DM Debapriya Bardhan, Smita Mall. The presence of common people around this camp was noticeable.
