Prize distribution ceremony for state-level essay competition on HIV/AIDS held in Tripura

Agartala, 7th October 2024:   The prize distribution ceremony for the state-level essay competition on HIV/AIDS, organized by the Tripura State AIDS Control Society concluded on Monday at the TB Association of Tripura Hall. The event was attended by the Joint Mission Director of the National Health Mission Tripura Arup Deb; Project Director of the Tripura State AIDS Control Society Dr. Samarpita Datta; and Joint Director of Family Welfare and Immunization Rights Dr. Anuradha Majumdar.

In his address, Arup Deb praised the initiative emphasizing the crucial role of public awareness in the fight against HIV/AIDS in the state. He congratulated the participating students and encouraged them to contribute actively to the campaign aimed at eliminating HIV/AIDS.

The ceremony also included speeches from other distinguished guests, such as Dr. Anjan Datta from Tripura Medical College, Pediatrician Dr. Gopa Chatterjee, and Parijat Datta, Public Relations Officer of the Department of Health and Family Welfare.

Awards were presented in three categories: school, college, and university levels. In the school category, Subarna Lodh secured first place, followed by Joydeep Poddar and Tanushree Debnath in second and third places, respectively. For the college category, Shivshankar Baidya claimed the top spot, with Bidisha Bhowmik and Anamika Ghosh taking second and third places. At the university level, Sagarika Modak, Bipasha Chakraborty, and Sanjana Chowdhury received first, second, and third prizes, respectively.
