Agartala, 4th November 2024: The Sub-Divisional Police Officer Nityananda Sarkar on Monday led a crucial meeting at Sabroom police station to address and prevent all types of illegal activities in the Sabroom sub-division area. The meeting was attended by Officer-in-Charge of Sabroom police station Apu Das, Company Commandant of 114th Battalion on the Indo-Bangla border Inspector Gopal, Inspector and Custom Officer Abhinay Pandey of BSF’s 109th Battalion along with all Intelligence Bureau officials of Sabroom.
The meeting focused on several sensitive issues such as illegal entry into border villages, smuggling, drug trafficking, child marriage, and ethnic riots. Officers-in-charge of all police stations and outposts in Sabroom were present and shared their insights on preventive measures for the upcoming days.
“We discussed various strategies to curb illegal activities within the Sabrum sub-division. The focus was on maintaining law and order, and ensuring the safety and security of our community,” said SDPO Nityananda Sarkar.
The officers also deliberated on specific actions required to address the issues of illegal immigration and smuggling. “Coordination between different agencies is key to tackling these challenges. By working together, we can more effectively secure our borders and communities,” noted Inspector Gopal.
Furthermore, the meeting highlighted the importance of community involvement in crime prevention. “Residents play a crucial role in reporting suspicious activities. Their vigilance helps us respond swiftly and efficiently,” emphasized OC Apu Das.
At the end of the meeting, Sarkar addressed the media outlining the steps to be taken in the coming days to ensure law and order. “All the problems discussed today will be resolved with determination. The Sub-divisional police administration is committed to maintaining peace and security in the area,” he asserted.
