Agartala, April 13, 2023: Residents of Purba Pratapgarh area gave deputation to the SP of the West Tripura district Sankar Debnath on Thursday regarding the indifferent role of Maharaj Ganj Bazar outpost and East Agartala police station staff in investigating case in connection to the recovery of a 26-year-old Dipankar Ghosh’s corpse.

Speaking to media personnel in front of Police Headquarters here on Thursday noon, residents of Purba Pratapgarh expressed their resentment over the role of police as their investigation is alleged to have not been fair enough.

“We have come to the SP of West district and gave deputation seeking proper justice over the murdering of Dipankar Ghosh (26), resident of Purba Pratapgarh. Dipankar was called and lifted him in a numberless scooty. After 7 days, the corpse of Dipankar was found”, they added.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the role of police, Dipankar’s brother Biplab Ghosh said “Police did not act fairly.  Miscreants have murdered him in a pre-planned way. We cannot keep faith on the role of police. Hence we have come to give deputation to the SP of the West Tripura district. We want that the SP should intervene so that the police station and outpost’s staff discharge their duties properly and arrest the accused murderer within 24 hours.”

“Since April 06 last, Dipankar went missing. On the following day, we have lodged a missing diary with Maharaj Ganj Bazar outpost and also informed East Agartala Police Station staff regarding this complaint lodged. We have even showed CCTV footage, but they did not investigate properly. If police would have acted genuinely, then my bother would have been alive today”, he added in a sad tone.
