Agartala, 17th February 2026: The three-day Regional Vedic Conference was formally inaugurated today at the Eklavya Campus of the Central Sanskrit University in Agartala. The event is being jointly organized by Maharshi Sandipani Rashtriya Ved Vidya Pratishthan, the Central Sanskrit University’s Eklavya Campus, and Bholananda Ved Vidyalaya, Agartala.
The inaugural session began at 11 a.m. with traditional chanting of Vedic mantras by scholars, followed by the national anthem and the campus song.
Dr. Prakash Ranjan Mishra, Coordinator of the Vedic Priesthood Department at the Eklavya Campus, opened the proceedings with a welcome address. He greeted distinguished guests, scholars, and participants, emphasizing the importance of preserving and promoting Vedic traditions.
Professor Kameshwar Shukla, Head of the Sanskrit Department at Gauhati University, attended as the chief guest. In his speech, he highlighted the relevance of Vedic knowledge in contemporary society and praised the initiative of creating a platform for scholars to advance Vedic studies.
Special guest Professor Virupaksha T. Jaddipal, Secretary of Maharshi Sandipani Rashtriya Ved Vidya Pratishthan, underscored the institution’s role in expanding Vedic education nationwide. He urged scholars and students to engage more actively in research and dissemination of Vedic knowledge.
Professor Makhlesh Kumar, Director of the Central Sanskrit University’s Eklavya Campus, delivered the presidential address, stressing the significance of such conferences in strengthening cultural exchange and reinforcing Vedic traditions.
During the ceremony, guests were honored, and the session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Ashish Mishra, Assistant Professor of the Vedic Priesthood Department. The program was conducted by Dr. Nishant Mishra, Assistant Professor.
The Regional Vedic Conference will continue until February 19, 2026, featuring multiple academic sessions, discussions, and presentations by eminent scholars from across India.
