Agartala, 13th June 2025: A Review Meeting-cum-Interaction Program under the Tripura JICA Project (SCATFORM) was organized with the Presidents of Joint Forest Management Committees (JFMCs) of Unakoti District at the PRTI Hall, Kumarghat, on Friday.
The meeting was graced by the Chief Executive Officer and Project Director of the Tripura JICA Project, along with Directors from the Project Management Unit (PMU), Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Sub-Divisional Forest Officers (SDFOs), Program Managers and other officials from the Forest Department.
The primary objective of the meeting was to review the ongoing performance and progress of the JFMCs under Unakoti District. The Project Management Unit (PMU) undertook a comprehensive review of the functioning, achievements, and challenges of the JFMCs, while also engaging directly with the Presidents to understand ground-level concerns and success stories.
Highlighting the importance of community participation in sustainable forest management, the CEO & PD emphasized strengthening institutional frameworks and ensuring that benefits reach the grassroots level effectively.
As part of the program, Bagaicherra JFMC under Pecharthal Range Management Unit (RMU) was felicitated by the CEO & PD in recognition of its outstanding performance and contribution to the objectives of the Tripura JICA Project.
The interaction ended on a positive note, with renewed commitment from all stakeholders to work collectively towards forest conservation, livelihood enhancement, and inclusive development under the SCATFORM initiative.
