Agartala, January 01, 2023: The first day of the new English year 2023 was Sunday. As a result, the Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary authority and the police administration had to suffer due to the overflowing crowd of tourists on this day.

Due to the corona pandemic in the last two years, travellers could not welcome the past years in their own way. As a result, a record number of tourists visited the picnic ground and Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary on the first day of this year.

From 8 AM in the morning, tourists started crowding the main gate of the sanctuary with various vehicles. At one point, the queue of vehicle formed a long traffic jam covering about two kilometres on either side of the main gate of Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary.

A large number of police from Bishalgarh police station rushed to the spot and tried to control the situation. While the jam on the national highway outside the main gate was somewhat normal, the situation inside the wildlife sanctuary went out of control. Tourists have to spend a long time sitting in their respective vehicles. Many were forced to walk long distances. Everyone, young and old, was seen enjoying the first day of the year. Many expressed anger at the physical condition of the animals in the enclosure.
