Agartala, 28th October 2024:   The Raj Rajeshwari Nursing and Science College, located in Uttam Bhakta Chowmuhani is facing serious allegations from students and parents. Concerns have been raised about the treatment of students, including being locked in hostels and facing undue pressure. Parents have also reported being failed to visit their children.

One parent on Monday reported, “My daughter studies at Raj Rajeshwari Nursing and Science College and lives in the hostel. When we came to visit her, we found the hostel locked and had to wait for three hours without any access.”

Additionally, parents have accused the college of unethical money collection. “The authorities extort money from the students as they please. Students are fined if they miss class due to illness, and we were never informed about these practices before admission,” claimed another parent.

Despite a scheduled meeting with parents on Monday, organized by the college, the managing director was absent. “We came to discuss these issues, but the MD was not there. It’s just two days before exams, and our children are being harassed with fines,” expressed a frustrated parent.

The situation has highlighted broader issues within the state’s privately run nursing institutions. “There is no government monitoring, and this lack of oversight is leading to such incidents,” commented a local resident.

Parents are calling for immediate government intervention to address these concerns and ensure better regulation of private nursing institutions.
