Agartala, 1st March 2025 : A delegation from the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) and the Tripura Students’ Union (TSU) submitted a deputation to the Medical Education Officer at 1 PM today. The deputation was in response to allegations of financial exploitation of students in the name of supplementary examinations at Tripura Medical College.
Recent news reports have surfaced, accusing certain professors at Tripura Medical College of extorting nearly one crore rupees from students. The SFI and TSU representatives have expressed their frustration over the silence of the state’s Chief Minister and Health Minister on this grave issue.
“They are playing with the future of the students, and no action is being taken,” said an SFI representative. The delegation demanded immediate action against the illegal collection of money and the punishment of those responsible.
SFI and TSU members are hopeful that a thorough investigation will be conducted promptly, and appropriate measures will be taken against the accused. “We expect swift action to ensure justice for the affected students,” stated a TSU member.
