Agartala, 30th July 2025: A golden evening of literary reflection and creative expression took place yesterday at the residence of Santosh Sarkar, Paschim Pratapgarh as Shatarupa Prakashni organized a spirited gathering featuring literary discussion, a composed poetry reading, and a discussion circle.
Presided over by renowned writer and former assistant headmistress of Tripura, Piyali Das, the event drew a constellation of literary talents from across the area. Participants were greeted warmly by hostess Shipra Deb (Sarkar), who distributed symbolic tokens of inspiration, a 2026 diary, pen and folder to all attendees. The evening began with the soulful strains of Rabindra Sangeet, setting an evocative tone.
Santosh Sarkar, organizer and assistant headmaster delivered the welcome address, briefly tracing the journey of Shatarupa Publishing and sharing aspirations for its future. Emphasizing creative continuity, he called for new literary contributions in anticipation of the upcoming Agartala Book Fair.
Literary voices including Subir Bhattacharjee, Kalpana Das, Pradip Bhowmik, Anita Deb Nath, Salil Pandit, Samhita Bhattacharjee, Gautam Bhattacharjee and others offered moving readings of original poetry and engaged in lively literary dialogue. The proceedings were deftly coordinated by Samhita Bhattacharjee and Subir Bhattacharjee, ensuring a seamless flow of ideas and emotion throughout.
Concluding the event, Shri Sarkar extended heartfelt thanks to attendees and shared an optimistic outlook for organizing a grand literary celebration post-Durga Puja. As the president closed the meeting, guests departed with renewed inspiration and a shared commitment to cultural and literary enrichment.
