Agartala, 16th October 2025: Tripura Police have intensified security arrangements in and around the historic Tripura Sundari Temple in Udaipur, Gomati District, ahead of the Diwali Puja and Mela, scheduled to be held from October 20 to 22.
On Thursday, Gomati District Superintendent of Police (SP) Kiran Kumar conducted an inspection of the temple premises along with other senior officers to review security preparedness for the three-day celebration.
“The Diwali Mela will be held from October 20 to 22 at the Tripura Sundari Temple premises in Udaipur. We carried out a detailed field visit to assess all arrangements. Entry points for devotees and VIPs have been carefully planned to ensure smooth movement and effective crowd management,” said SP Kumar.
He further stated that more than 2,500 personnel, including forces from the Gomati District Police, Tripura State Rifles (TSR), and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), will be deployed to maintain law and order during the festivities.
As part of the extensive security plan, 37 CCTV cameras, 28 drop gates, 9 police assistance booths, and 10 watchtowers will be installed in and around the temple area. Special vehicle passes will also be issued to manage traffic and streamline entry.
“We have finalized the security blueprint and will soon announce detailed guidelines. Night patrolling, vehicle checks, and preventive measures have already been intensified across the district to ensure a safe and peaceful celebration,” the SP added.
