Agartala, 11th March 2025 : In an initiative by the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission in collaboration with the Sepahijala District Administration, the second district-level Saras Mela was officially inaugurated today. Fisheries Minister Sudhangshu Das inaugurated event at Bishramganj Mini Stadium.
Minister Das was accompanied by Sepahijala Zilla Parishad Sabhadipati Supriya Das Datta, MLAs Tafajjal Hossain, Antara Sarkar Deb, Kishor Barman and Sushanta Deb as well as Sepahijala’s Additional District Magistrate Rinku Rathore among other personalities.
The three-day Saras Mela features self-help groups under the guidance of the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission, displaying and selling a variety of handmade products. Additionally, rural women entrepreneurs from different sub-divisions of the district have showcased their self-made items. The event also includes cultural programs spread across the three days.
