Agartala, 18th November 2025 : To ensure that the benefits of various central and state government schemes reach every eligible beneficiary, the Department must take a more proactive role, said Sudhangshu Das, Minister for Scheduled Caste Welfare, today.
Speaking at a state-level review meeting organised by the Scheduled Caste Welfare Department at the Tribal Welfare Department’s conference hall in Gorkhabasti, the Minister emphasised the need for effective execution of all welfare initiatives undertaken for Scheduled Caste communities.
He stated that the proper implementation of schemes aimed at the upliftment of Scheduled Castes must be ensured. Along with evaluating the progress of departmental programmes for the 2025–26 financial year, he instructed officials to prioritise timely preparation and execution of the action plan for the upcoming fiscal year.
During the meeting, officials reviewed the progress of various schemes and services under the Scheduled Caste Welfare Department. Detailed discussions were also held on scholarship programmes for students under the SC Welfare Department, the scholarship disbursement process, and challenges faced in implementation. Senior officials from various departments were present at the meeting.
