TBSE announces dates for 2026 Secondary and Higher Secondary examinations

Agartala, 10^th November 2025: The Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) has officially announced the schedule for the 2026 Madhyamik (Secondary) and Higher Secondary examinations. The Class XII board exams will commence on February 25 with English as the first paper, and conclude on March 30 with vocational subjects. The examination will span 13 days, with 12 days dedicated to core subjects.

Class X exams are set to begin on February 26, also starting with English and will wrap up on March 24 with vocational papers. The Madhyamik exams will be conducted over six days.

The announcement was made during a press conference held at the TBSE conference hall here today. TBSE President Dr. Dhananjoy Gan Choudhury confirmed that all written exams will be held from 12 PM to 3:15 PM.

TBSE Secretary Dr. Dulal Dey added that practical examinations will begin on November 17 and continue until December 5. He urged students who missed last year’s exams to re-register online for enrollment. The registration portal will remain open throughout November.

Dr. Dey emphasized the importance of verifying all details after online form submission to avoid discrepancies. He noted that complaints often arise when students, despite scoring well, are marked absent due to clerical errors. Teachers have been requested to handle the verification process with utmost care, keeping students’ futures in mind.

The board has appealed to educators to ensure that neither students nor the board face unnecessary complications due to oversight.

As of now, 38,135 students have registered for the Madhyamik exams, with the board estimating that the number may rise to 40,000 for the 2025–26 academic session. For Higher Secondary, 29,943 students have enrolled as of November 10, with an additional 200 expected to register. Final participation figures will be confirmed after the form fill-up process concludes.

Overall, TBSE anticipates an increase of approximately 10,000 candidates each in both Madhyamik and Higher Secondary exams compared to the previous year.
