Agartala, 5th June 2024: Techno India University, Tripura, a State private university, has launched a special program to enrich the educational journey of its students through educational trips. This initiative stems from the University’s commitment to providing a superior learning experience, a promise made since its inception last year.
As part of the largest educational group in Eastern India, Techno India Group, the university has quickly established itself as a beacon of advanced education in Tripura. It has begun facilitating student exchanges to other states, enhancing their academic exposure. Recently, 13 PG Biotechnology students were sent to Sister Nivedita University in Kolkata for a month-long specialized training program.
The training program includes an intensive schedule combining both theoretical and practical learning. During the first week, students delve into advanced topics in enzyme metabolism and genetics, coupled with hands-on experiments. The second week covers evolutionary biology and DNA techniques like isolation and gel electrophoresis. The third week focuses on biophysics and practical sessions including fossil studies and SDS PAGE. In the final week, students explore cellular immune systems and engage in skill development classes, city tour and health check-ups.
Originally scheduled to travel by train, the students’ plans were altered due to unforeseen natural calamities. Demonstrating exceptional care, the university arranged for their air travel at no additional cost to the students. This gesture reflects the proactive approach of Chancellor Satyam Roychowdhury in ensuring the welfare of the University’s scholars.
Vice-Chancellor of TIUT, Prof. (Dr.) Ratan Kumar Saha has expressed that such educational excursions will not be limited to Kolkata but will expand to other regions, aiming to provide a broader spectrum of higher education and training opportunities. He emphasizes that while high-quality education is now accessible within Tripura, the experience of studying at different campuses will offer students a unique advantage. Further, TIUT acknowledges the support and cooperation received from the SNU family under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Dhrubajyoti Chattopadhyay, the VC of SNU, Kolkata.
TIUT offers a diverse curriculum, including sought-after courses which are first time in Tripura. With a robust infrastructure and a team of professional educators from within and outside the state, the university is poised to deliver an unparalleled educational experience. Assistant Registrar Somnath Roy, in a press statement, highlighted the university’s efforts to provide a comprehensive educational environment, extending beyond traditional classroom learning. further solidifying its position as a leading educational institution.
