Agartala, 4th December 2024: Sameed Ali Anganwadi Kendra in Kalamkhet Gram Panchayat under Mohanbhog RD Block was robbed on Tuesday night. The theft was found by an Anganwadi worker when she arrived at the school the following morning.
Upon arrival, the worker found the school’s lock broken and the premises in disarray. “The group of thieves stole the gas cylinder, cooking stove, and a sack of rice used for cooking meals for the children,” the worker reported.
This isn’t the first instance of theft at Sameed Ali Anganwadi School. Just a month ago, water taps and pipes were stolen from the premises. Despite these incidents, the culprits remain unidentified.
The Anganwadi worker alerted the police, who have since filed a case and commenced an investigation. The ongoing thefts have raised concerns about the security measures in place at educational institutions in the area.
