Agartala, 10th April 2026: Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today said that regional parties won’t be able to do real development because only a national party can bring real development and progress.
He also criticized the Tipra Motha Party for looting the development fund which was meant for the welfare of Janajati people in TTAADC.
Dr. Saha said this while addressing an election campaign at Vanghmun of Jampui for BJP-nominated candidate Rabindra Reang.
He said that you have seen in Mann Ki Baat that PM Modi has mentioned the Jampui Hills.
“Which has helped the entire nation and the world to know more about Jampui. PM Modi has always been stressing on Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas. Development is needed for everyone, not only for a particular community. Before 2014, the condition of India was different, whether it would progress or not. After PM Modi came, a series of operations, including surgical strikes and Operation Sindoor, have proved that we are strong. We are doing infrastructure development. Just see the roads in Jampui,” said Dr. Saha.
He said that massive corruption has taken place in TTAADC.
“You people have given a chance to Tipra Motha, but we have given a lot of funds for the development of Janajati people, and they have looted the funds and are travelling to foreign countries. That is why our party has decided to contest all 28 seats. If you see in other states also, wherever corruption has occurred, BJP has thrown out the corrupt parties and formed the government, like in Delhi and Odisha. You see the condition of West Bengal—same corruption, suppressing people—and this time BJP will also form the government there,” said Dr. Saha.
Dr. Saha said that BJP wanted to continue its alliance with Tipra Motha, but they kept changing their stance and created issues to divide Jati and Janajati.
“We have given them 49.06% of the funds in the 2024–25 financial year, and this year too over 40% has been given. We are connecting all the Janajati areas with national highways. PM Modi has given us the HIRA Model. Now peace has been prevailing in the North East. You have seen how CPIM ruled the state with arson, rape, murder, and violence, and they trained people for that. In the same way, when Communists see their condition worsening, they have entered Tipra Motha. Tipra Motha has no strength. They have attacked our karyakartas at least 42 times. This is not democracy. No one wants unrest. They are pushing a section of youths in the wrong direction. BJP means development, and we don’t talk without development. Thansa means living together. By speaking fabricated lies, they are trying to confuse the public. They only know how to loot. A regional party can’t bring development, as only a national party can do so,” he said.
