Agartala, 23rd March 2026:   Pradyot Kishore Manikya, the founder of the Tipra Motha Party, has declared that his party will contest the upcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections independently, without forming any alliance—even with the ruling BJP. The elections for the 28 council seats are scheduled for April 12, with results to be announced on April 17.

Addressing supporters via Facebook Live, Pradyot emphasized his commitment to the indigenous community, stating that his loyalty lies with his people rather than any political arrangement. “I will never compromise the rights of my people for an alliance. My priority is the Tiprasa community and the fulfillment of our demands under the Tiprasa accord. Without assurance or guarantees, I will not join any coalition,” he said.

He further added that while many have wealth and influence, his strength comes from the support of the indigenous population. “We may be small in number, but our unity makes us powerful. God will guide us, and the people’s support will lead us to victory. This election is about securing rights for the future generations of our community, not mere politics,” Pradyot asserted.

He urged people to focus on solidarity rather than conflicts, saying, “This is our fight for our rights. On April 12, when we vote, and on April 17, when the results come, we will demonstrate the strength of the Tipra people. We must stand united and show that together, we are strong.”
