TLA Speaker Biswa Bandhu Sen inaugurates child science exhibition and seminar at Dharmanagar

Agartala, 6th January 2024:   The district-level child science exhibition and seminar, organized by the Department of Education, was inaugurated by the Tripura Legislative Assembly Speaker Biswa Bandhu Sen at the basketball ground of Bir Bikram Institution in Dharmanagar on Saturday.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including the Sabhadipati of Uttar Tripura Zilla Parishad Bhabatosh Das, the Chairman of Dharmanagar Municipal Council Pradyut De Sarkar, the Chief Executive Officer of Dharmanagar Municipal Council Shyamal Nath, the SDM of Dharmanagar subdivision Shyam Jyoti Jamatia, and the Principal of Bir Bikram Institution Ranju Sharma.

The exhibition and seminar, which are based on the theme of sports, aim to promote scientific temper and creativity among the students of classes VI to X. The students have prepared various models and projects related to sports science, such as the physics of motion, the chemistry of nutrition, the biology of fitness, and the mathematics of statistics. The exhibition and seminar also provide a platform for the students to showcase their talents and skills, and to interact with experts and peers.

In his inaugural speech, Sen praised the students for their enthusiasm and innovation, and urged them to complete their work with sincerity and dedication. He also advised them to focus on learning science and acquiring additional knowledge without wasting time on smartphones. He said that India is progressing in various fields, especially in science and technology, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has become a role model for the whole world. He said that if the students use smartphones only for educational purposes and spend the rest of their time for their own development, they can contribute to the progress of the society. He also said that Bengalis are lagging behind in India and abroad due to their laziness and lack of excellence in various fields, such as civil services and sports. He said that if the students overcome their laziness and work hard, they can achieve their goals and reach the highest peaks.

The exhibition and seminar will continue for two days, on January 8 and 9, at the premises of Bir Bikram Institution. The best 10 models and projects will be selected from the district level, and out of them, five will be sent to Agartala for the state level competition. Similarly, the first and second runners-up from the seminar will be selected and sent to the state level competition. The winners of the state level competition will represent Tripura at the national level.
