Agartala, 12th December 2025: Tripura BJP general secretary Bipin Debbarma today asserted that the decline of Tipra Motha Party (TMP) in the 2026 Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections is “certain,” claiming that the people are ready for political change.
Debbarma made the remarks after reviewing preparations for a major joining programme scheduled for Friday at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhawan in Agartala. He said thousands of Janajati voters are expected to join the BJP during the event.
“Over 5,000 voters will join the party, and more than 25,000 people are likely to attend. Many of those who are joining come from Tipra Motha and the CPI(M). Several leaders who have long worked for these parties will also join the BJP in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and state BJP president Rajib Bhattacharya,” Debbarma said. “Tomorrow’s programme will demonstrate BJP’s strong grassroots presence and the work we have done for the people.”
He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi sets an example by identifying himself as a karyakarta, and BJP workers in Tripura follow the same approach. “I am not from a royal family; I come from the grassroots. BJP does not focus on power or politics—our priority is serving the people and ensuring progress for both tribal and non-tribal communities,” he said.
Without naming TMP directly, Debbarma alleged that some parties change names for monetary gains and function like companies to mislead people. “Ultimately, people will decide who to reject and who to welcome. Those who only talk big but fail to deliver are bound to fall,” he added.
He further stated that people have shown great enthusiasm towards the BJP, and with this support, the party will ensure the “immersion” of its political opponents in the 2026 TTAADC elections.
