Agartala, 5th October 2024: A member of the notorious ‘Bike Bahini’ has been arrested following intense reports in various media. The incident took place on Friday last in the Netaji Chowmuhani area of the capital city involved three ‘Bike Bahini’ members misbehaving with traffic policemen. The situation escalated as they used obscene language and provocative statements, disrupting administrative work.
The incident took place in the assembly constituency of the Chief Minister and Home Minister, adding to the gravity of the situation. The video footage of the altercation surfaced on Friday, sparking widespread media coverage across TV channels and newspapers. Under media pressure, the police registered a case on Friday night.
Among the three accused, Deep Datta was arrested from Arundhati Nagar. The other two suspects remain at large. West District Superintendent of Police, Kiran Kumar K., stated that efforts are underway to arrest the remaining culprits swiftly. He confirmed that the altercation began when the Bike Force members, who were not wearing helmets, misbehaved with the traffic police on duty.
