Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy on Friday visited the Hapania International Fair premises to inspect the final preparations and ensure smooth execution of the grand event.
Speaking to the media during the visit, Minister Roy said the program will be formally inaugurated by Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha. This year’s theme—‘One World, One Health’—underscores the universal relevance of yoga in promoting physical and mental well-being.
Highlighting the scale of the national celebration, Roy informed that the event in Tripura is part of a larger initiative being observed at one lakh locations across India, in line with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also mentioned that the Centre plans to establish 1,000 yoga parks across the country to encourage healthier living through yoga.
The Hapania event will witness participation from a diverse group of attendees, including personnel from Tripura Police, BSF, CRPF, TSR, NCC, NYKS, NSS, Scouts and Guides, school students, yoga practitioners, social organizations, and various government departments. A large-scale blood donation camp will also be organized to commemorate the occasion.
Besides the main celebration in Agartala, International Yoga Day will be observed across all districts, subdivisions, and blocks of Tripura. Special yoga sessions will also be conducted at iconic sites like Unakoti, emphasizing the cultural and spiritual essence of yoga.
