Agartala, 12th March 2025 :  The budget session for the 2025-26 financial year of the 13th Tripura Legislative Assembly is set to begin on March 21 and will run until April 1.

A meeting of the Business Advisory Committee was held today at the Tripura Legislative Assembly, chaired by Speaker Biswa Bandhu Sen. The meeting saw the participation of Deputy Speaker Ram Prasad Paul, ministers from the treasury bench, Chief Whip Kalyani Saha Roy, and opposition MLAs, including Leader of the Opposition Jitendra Chaudhury.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ratan Lal Nath informed that the session dates were decided with inputs from the opposition. The assembly will make optimal use of weekdays for discussions. Minister Nath stated, “The session will begin on Friday, March 21, and conclude on April 1. As this is the budget session, both supplementary and revised budgets will be presented. We, from the treasury bench, encourage more discussions for the benefit of everyone. Our government is committed to development, and we value the opposition’s suggestions in this process. Therefore, we have extended the session to allow for thorough deliberations on the 2025-26 financial year’s budget. We may also consider extending the duration of future assembly sessions.”

Nath further added that on the first day of the session, the budget will be presented, followed by the Question Hour. While some government bills may be introduced, details on that are still pending.
