Agartala, 19th February 2026: The budget session of the Tripura Legislative Assembly is scheduled to begin on March 13, 2026. Following tradition, the first session of the English calendar year will start with the Governor’s address. During this session, the state government is expected to present the Budget for the 2026–27 fiscal year.
A notification regarding the commencement of the 9th session of the 13th Tripura Legislative Assembly from March 13 was issued today by the Assembly Secretary A. K. Nath on behalf of Governor Indrasena Reddy Nalluri.
Ahead of the upcoming budget session, Finance Minister Pranjit Singh Roy conducted a high-level meeting at the Secretariat on Wednesday to review the implementation of various projects and commitments announced in the previous year’s budget speech.
In a social media post, the minister mentioned that the meeting was held in his office in the presence of officials from various departments. The discussion focused on the progress of measures announced in the 2025–26 budget speech.
The minister wrote, “Today, in my office at the Secretariat, a significant discussion was held with officials from various departments regarding the implementation of the decisions announced in the 2025–26 budget speech.”
Sources say the meeting assumes special significance ahead of the upcoming budget session, as it is aimed at assessing the actual status of promises made in the previous budget before presenting the 2026–27 fiscal year budget.
