Agartala, 19th May 2025:  Ahead of the nationwide general strike called by the All India State Government Employees’ Federation on May 20, 2025, the Tripura Government has issued instructions to ensure the uninterrupted functioning of all state government offices, undertakings, and affiliated organizations.

In an official order signed by Debjani Deb Sarkar, Joint Secretary of the Tripura Government, it was noted that the strike aims to press various demands, including the regularization of all contractual employees and an end to contractual, outsourced, and daily-wage employment.

The order highlighted that the Tripura Employees’ Coordination Committee (H.B. Road) has also urged state employees and teachers to join the strike. However, the State Government has mandated that all government offices, undertakings, and organizations under the state’s jurisdiction must continue to operate normally on the day of the strike. Government employees and staff of these organizations are expected to perform their duties as usual.

Any failure to comply with these instructions will be taken seriously, the order warned.Further, all Principal Secretaries, Secretaries, Special Secretaries, and Heads of Departments have been directed to inform all employees under their supervision about these guidelines. A report on attendance across offices, undertakings, and organizations must be submitted to the General Administration (AR) Department by 12:00 noon on May 20, 2025.
