Agartala, 30th July 2025: 11th Sub-Divisional Conference of the Tripura Rajya Matsyajibi Union was held today at the CPIM Teliamura Sub-Divisional Office hall. The event commenced with the ceremonial hoisting of the union flag, marking the formal beginning of proceedings.
Sudhan Das, State Secretary of the Tripura State Fishermen’s Union addressed the gathering as the chief speaker. He was accompanied by Manindra Chandra Das, senior member of the union’s state leadership; Hemanta Kumar Jamatia, member of the CPIM state committee; and Subhas Nath, CPIM Teliamura Sub-Divisional Secretary among others.
Following deliberations, the existing committee was dissolved, and a new 45-member sub-divisional committee was unanimously formed. Jahar Das and Amulya Das were elected as the Secretary and President of the newly constituted body, respectively.
Bangladeshi man held at Kailashahar after allegedly crossing border over family dispute

Agartala, 30th July 2025: A Bangladeshi youth identified as Gourmoni Baidya from Ganganagar in Moulvibazar was arrested by Border Security Forces after reportedly crossing the international border into Tripura due to a dispute with his family.
Gourmoni entered Kailashahar covertly and later moved toward Dharmanagar, where he drew suspicion while wandering through a local market. Upon interrogation, the Border Security Force (BSF) found he lacked valid travel documents including a visa or passport. His only explanation: “I left home after a fight with my family.”
Authorities handed him over to Kailashahar Police for further questioning. Sources indicate he will be repatriated to Bangladesh via pushback procedures.
