Agartala, 13th June 2025: In a significant step towards enhancing educational facilities, Tripureshwari English Medium School in Dakshin Kalamchoura under Boxanagar RD Block inaugurated three new pucca classrooms today. The development was funded through a budget allocation of Rs 14.22 lakh from the MPLAD Fund, was made possible with the support of former Union Minister of State Pratima Bhoumik.
The school was established on January 23, 2019, began its journey with just 64 students and has since grown to accommodate over 200 pupils, offering classes from Ankur Mukul Kishlay to Class VII. Managed by Vidya Bharati Shiksha Samiti, Tripureshwari Vidyamandir is part of a larger network of 16 institutions in Tripura and more than 3,000 across India, renowned for maintaining high academic standards alongside cultural and scientific enrichment programs.
The inauguration ceremony was marked by traditional rituals, with Bhoumik cutting the ceremonial ribbon and cracking a coconut to signify the auspicious beginning of the new classrooms. Milan Rani Jamatia, President of Vidya Mandir Shiksha Samiti Tripura Prant joined her in lighting the ceremonial lamp to commence the event.
Several dignitaries graced the occasion, including Boxanagar Education Standing Committee Chairman Subhash Chandra Saha, Panchayat Samiti Chairman Swapna Nama Das, Vidya Bharati Shiksha Samiti Secretary Subhash Gan Chowdhury, Village Pradhan Bapan Sarkar and School Vice-President Sajal. Social worker Sanjay Sarkar and Pradhan Acharya Ujjal Das also participated alongside teachers and staff.
To celebrate the milestone, the school organized cultural performances featuring educational drama, dance, and music, offering students an engaging platform to showcase their talents. The addition of new classrooms is expected to significantly improve learning conditions, addressing previous space constraints and reinforcing the institution’s commitment to quality education.
