Two-day workshop on crop insurance schemes concludes at T-SAMETI

Agartala, 2nd December 2025 :  A two-day workshop on the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), the Revised Weather-Based Crop Insurance Scheme (RWBCIS), and the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) concluded today at the Tripura State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (T-SAMETI).

The programme was organized by T-SAMETI in collaboration with the National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad, and the Crop Insurance Division of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare.

Key officials present included Dr. P. B. Jamatia, Director of Agriculture, and Arvind Debbarma, Director of T-SAMETI. Joining online were Dr. Shalendra, Director of Agricultural Marketing at MANAGE, along with senior officials from the Crop Insurance Division.

Speakers emphasized the importance of enhancing the skills of field-level workers, ensuring timely registration of farmers, and delivering effective services under crop insurance schemes.

During the workshop, a booklet titled “ToT Manual: PMFBY & KCC” was released. The event saw participation from 40 representatives across the Agriculture Department, Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), and various crop insurance agencies.

Delivering the valedictory address, Dipak Kumar Das, Director of Horticulture and Soil Conservation, highlighted the significance of such training initiatives in strengthening farmer engagement and ensuring the effective implementation of crop insurance schemes.
