Agartala: July 23. Tripura Police have arrested two persons while smuggling cannabis by wrapping it in tea packets in MBB Airport on Sunday.
Police sources said that they have arrested two persons along with 16kgs of cannabis.
“The Airport personnel have detained two persons while smuggling cannabis. They were detained during luggage scanning. When we have heard the news, we rushed to the spot and detained them, during preliminary interrogation, they revealed that they were enroute to Chennai to smuggle this cannabis which they wrapped in tea packets”, said police.
Police further informed that the arrestee were residents of Sonamura.
