Agartala, 9th October 2025 : Two men were caught red-handed while allegedly stealing goats using a Bolero pickup truck on the national highway at Dewan Bazar in Bishramganj. The accused were identified as Maram Ali from Sonamura and Jasim Uddin from Melaghar and intercepted by vigilant locals during the act.
Locals informed that the duo had parked their vehicle beside a jungle area and was seen loading two goats into the truck. Suspicious of their actions, residents quickly intervened, detaining the men and administering a physical reprimand before alerting the Bishramganj police station.
Police officials arrived promptly and took both individuals into custody. The incident was captured on mobile phones by several bystanders, further corroborating the locals’ account of the attempted theft.
Police have launched an investigation into the matter.
