Agartala, 18th January 2026: In a joint operation, personnel of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Tripura Police intelligence wing detained two youths at Agartala Railway Station and seized arms and contraband on Sunday.
According to DIG of Tripura Police Rati Ranjan Debnath, the operation was conducted after the Ran Kamalapati Express arrived at the station. During a search, security personnel recovered a country-made pistol, two live cartridges, and 100 bottles of Phensidyl cough syrup from the suspects.
The detained individuals have been identified as Kartik Yadav and Amod, both hailing from Bihar. The seized firearm, ammunition, and narcotic substances have been sent for forensic analysis.DIG Debnath stated that the accused are being interrogated to determine the source and intended destination of the seized items. Cases have been registered against them under the NDPS Act and the Arms Act, and further investigation is in progress.
