Agartala, 15th May 2025:  Radhakishorpur constituency MLA and State Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy is leading a series of development initiatives aimed at transforming Udaipur, a city steeped in history from the King’s era. From education and healthcare to tourism and infrastructure, the minister’s master plans are gradually reshaping the city’s landscape.

Residents of Udaipur have welcomed these efforts, noting that the city lagged behind in various aspects during the previous Left regime. “For years, development was stagnant, but now, we are witnessing significant improvements,” said a local shopkeeper, expressing optimism about the city’s future.

Under the Bharatiya Janata Party government, several landmark projects have been undertaken, including the beautification of Mata Tripura Sundari Temple—one of the 51 Peeths—and Jagannath Dighi, a historic lake in the heart of Udaipur. Additionally, construction of a new paved bridge over the Gomati River in Chanban, modernization of Mahadev Dighi, and infrastructural upgrades to Ramesh Higher Secondary School, including a modern synthetic playground have been initiated.

Another major development is the upcoming Kendriya Vidyalaya in Bandowar, Udaipur set to open in June. The initiative, which had been long pursued by Minister Singha Roy since his tenure as an MLA in 2013, has been met with appreciation. Senior journalist and columnist Swapan Bhattacharya acknowledged the minister’s efforts, stating on social media, “Udaipur is undergoing a remarkable transformation under Pranajit Singha Roy’s leadership.”

Apart from educational advancements, infrastructure development continues across the city. A state-of-the-art supermarket, a new town hall, enhanced roads, and a flyover to ease traffic congestion and prevent accidents are among the projects currently underway. Efforts are also being made to establish Udaipur as a tourism hub, with plans to highlight 50 of the 51 sacred Peeths in Bandowar.

“The pace of development is unprecedented. These initiatives are setting the foundation for a more modern and thriving Udaipur,” remarked a government official.

With widespread appreciation from citizens, Minister Pranajit Singh Roy’s vision for Udaipur is gradually taking shape, bringing both infrastructural advancement and renewed civic pride to the lake city.
