Agartala, 24th December 2025:   In a forward-looking effort to secure the well-being of young learners, the Unakoti District Police launched a large-scale awareness campaign, Prayas, under the Pecharthal Police Station.

The programme was designed to sensitize schoolchildren to critical issues such as drug abuse, child marriage, road safety, and cybercrime.

Superintendent of Police, Unakoti District, Sudambika R, addressed the students and underscored several pressing concerns: The damaging impact of substance abuse on individuals and society; The illegality of child marriage and the importance of preventing it; The necessity of responsible road behavior to minimize accidents; and Safe internet practices and strategies to guard against cyber threats.

By engaging children early, Prayas sought to instill awareness and empower them with the knowledge needed to make wise decisions and shield themselves from social and digital risks.

With this initiative, the Unakoti District Police reinforced their dedication to community outreach and preventive education, striving to nurture a generation that is both safer and better informed.
