Unveiling of “Chintan” and Literary Workshop at Bhavan’s Tripura Vidya Mandir

Agartala, 22nd October 2025: . A one-day literary workshop was organized at Bhavan’s Tripura Vidya Mandir, Narsingarh Campus to commemorate the release of “Chintan”, an anthology of students writing.The event celebrated literary expression, creativity and critical thinking among students.

The occasion was graced by Dr. Barnali Bhowmik Ghosh, Head of the Department of Bengali, Maharaja Bir Bikram College; Dr. Nirmal Das, former Professor, Tripura University; renowned author Shyamal Baidya; publisher Mr. Anjan Kumar Pal; Dr. Papai Pal, Assistant Professor, Tripura Government Law College; and Dr. Anuradha Debbarma, Professor, Women’s College. The programme was presided over by Debashish Chakraborty, Retired IFS, Chairman, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Agartala Kendra.

In their deliberations, the guests commended the school’s unwavering commitment to nurturing creativity, discipline, and holistic development among students. Each guest delivered insightful presentations on diverse literary and linguistic themes aimed at enhancing students’ writing and analytical skills. A question-and-answer session followed, providing an interactive platform for participants to engage with the experts and deepen their understanding of the art of writing.

Principal Swapna Shome warmly welcomed all dignitaries and lauded the literary accomplishments of the students, emphasizing the importance of sustaining such academic and creative pursuits.

In his presidential address, Debashish Chakraborty, Retired IFS, Chairman, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Agartala Kendra, highlighted the significance of creative writing in intellectual growth and personal development. He praised the institution for fostering a vibrant culture of innovation, imagination, and literary excellence.

Approximately 130 students actively participated in the workshop. Ten outstanding contributors were honoured with the “Best Bhavan’s Writer Award 2025.” The programme also featured engaging discussions and a delightful cultural performance by the students.

The event concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem, marking a dignified close to an inspiring literary occasion.
