Agartala, 26th February 2026: A preparedness meeting was held at the conference hall of the West Tripura District Collectorate to address potential natural disasters, such as severe thunderstorms and floods. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Vishal Kumar, District Collector and Magistrate of West Tripura.
Officials in attendance included Asit Kumar Das, Additional District Collector and Magistrate, along with officers from the Sadar, Jirania, and Mohanpur Sub-Divisional Offices, Block Development Officers from all nine blocks of West Tripura, and representatives from various government departments. During the meeting, it was decided that all relevant departments must prepare a checklist and submit necessary arrangements to the District Collectorate by March 10, ensuring readiness for any disaster situation.
The District Collectorate instructed departments, including the Sub-Divisional Offices, TSR, CRPF, Assam Rifles, Water Resources Department, Health Department, Forest Department, Drinking Water & Sanitation, Electricity Department, and Public Works Department, to be fully prepared ahead of the monsoon.
Detailed discussions focused on ensuring safe and sufficient shelters, identification of relief camps, provision of drinking water, electricity, relief materials, and security arrangements for the public in case of emergencies.
