Agartala, 9th July 2024:  A delegation of the Youth Congress Party submitted a memorandum to District Magistrate Chandni Chandran on Tuesday demanding urgent repairs to the dilapidated roads in Khoai sub-division. The delegation, led by Youth Congress President Tinku Modak, included Khowai District Block Congress President Pradyut Bhattacharya and several others. They presented photographic evidence of the poor road conditions through a DVD player.

“The condition of various roads in Khowai sub-division is very bad, with potholes making it difficult for people and vehicles to move,” said Tinku Modak. He highlighted several critical issues, such as the broken canopy and exposed rods on the Ranjan Roy Bridge, and the absence of pavement on the road from Taat Chowmuhani to Praharmura leading to frequent accidents in the Bilpar area.

Modak also pointed out that the road from Taat Chowmuhani to Ajgar Tilla Pranavananda School breaks down every monsoon, posing a risk to school buses that could fall into the Khowai River. “We have given a deputation to ensure these issues are addressed immediately,” Modak emphasized.

District Magistrate Chandni Chandran assured the delegation that she would escalate the matter to higher authorities. The condition of Khowai’s roads has sparked a series of deputations from various political leaders, all seeking prompt action for repairs.
