Agartala, 11th March 2025 : A tragic incident unfolded once again in the D.M. Colony area under the Teliamura Railway Police Station, where a man lost his life after being run over by a train. The deceased has been identified as Ajit Sarkar, a 36-year-old resident of the locality.
The incident, which occurred last night, has sent shockwaves across the entire railway station area. Upon receiving information, the Government Railway Police (GRP) promptly reached the scene, recovered the body, and sent it to Teliamura Sub division Hospital for an autopsy.
According to preliminary details, it has been reported that Ajit Sarkar allegedly ended his life by jumping under a long-distance train. The reason behind his drastic step remains unknown at this stage.
Following the post-mortem examination, the body of Ajit Sarkar was handed over to his family members on Tuesday.
Incidentally, the tragedy follows a heartbreaking past for Ajit Sarkar’s family. A year ago, his mother and wife lost their lives in a similar manner after being run over by a train in the same area. The eerie resemblance between the two incidents has raised concerns and suspicions among the locals.
