AAP welcomes SC decision not to stay Punjab Panchayat polls

Aam Aadmi Party on Tuesday welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision for refusing to stay the ongoing polling for the Panchayat elections in Punjab.

AAP spokesman Neel Garg, wrote on “X” that it was a victory of democracy as well as Punjab’s Bhagwant Mann government and should serve a lesson to opponents.

He said that it was the AAP’s political victory as well.

The Supreme Court refused to stay the Panchayat elections, noting that polling has already begun in the state.

Punjab & Haryana High Court on Monday dismissed 800 petitions seeking cancellation of the election on over 200 seats due to irregularities in election process.
