About 40 cr people likely to attend Maha Kumbh 2025: Naveen Kumar

More than 40 crore people are expected to visit Maha Kumbh-2025 at Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh Revenue and Relief Commissioner GS Naveen Kumar said.

The top UP government official said this while briefing about the security and disaster management preparation during Kumbh.

The IAS official was in Kerala capital to attend a precursor roundtable here to discuss with the scholars about the upcoming Maha Kumbh, its preparations and invite people on behalf of Uttar Pradesh government.

Mukesh Meshram, IAS, DG, and Principal Secretary of UP Tourism, Culture, and Religious Affairs, has delivered a detailed presentation on Kumbh-2025 preparation and invited Keralites to experience Kumbh and the hospitality of Uttar Pradesh.

Other eminent personalities who spoke on the occasion were Awanish Awadthi, IAS (Retd) Advisor to Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh, Kummanam Rajshekhran, former Governor of Mizoram; and Rana Pratap Singh, Administrator, JK-AYA.

Prof. Manoj Dixit, VC of Bikaner University and advisor of Kumbh Conclave, has explained the historical and astronomical references of Kumbh and its Vedic importances.

Talking to UNI, Director of India Think Council and Curator of Kumbh Conclave Saurbah Pandey said this was the 8th precursor roundtable of 3rd Kumbh Conclave-2024-25 ahead of Maha Kumbh 2025.

The Kumbh Conclave is a global dialogue of the India Think Council and the government of Uttar Pradesh that is organised in every Kumbh at all the Kumbh States (Prayagraj, Haridwar, Ujjain, and Nashik).

During Kumbh-2019 of Prayagraj, the India Think Council started this famous dialogue with the support of the Uttar Pradesh Tourism and the Prayagraj Kumbh Mela Pardikaran, he said.

Ahead of Maha Kumbh-2025, Prayagraj, this is the 3rd Kumbh Conclave being organised in the month of October 25-27 at Prayagraj, he explained.

Before the main conclave in October, the India Think Council is hosting precursor (curtain raiser) roundtables across the states in India to spread awareness about Kumbh, its dialogue tradition, and the grandeur of the Kumbh celebration, which is listed as UNESCO world cultural heritage.

Kumbh Conclave is a 3-day dialogue where 20 sessions are held on Economy, Environment, Health, Peace, Ethics, Civilization, Conflict Resolution, Defense, Security, Food, Entertainment, Education, Welfare, Societal Challenges, and others.

This conclave is duly supported by the Ministry of Tourism, the Incredible India, the Ministry of Culture, the ICCR (Ministry of External Affairs), and partnered by central and state universities and others.

The roundtable was also attended by bureaucrats, businessmen, historians, academicians, architects, and civil society members. Saurbah Pandey moderated the session and briefed about the concept and agenda.
