) Ajay Kumar Bhalla was sworn in as the 19th Governor of Manipur at Raj Bhawan here on Friday.
He was administered the oath of office by Manipur High Court Chief Justice D. Krishnakumar.
Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Satyabrata Singh, Ministers, former Chief Ministers O. Ibobi Singh and Radhabinod Koijam, MLAs, Chief Secretary, Security Advisor, DGP and senior civil, military and police officers attended the oath taking ceremony.
After taking the oath, the Governor received Rashtriya Salute and inspected Guard of Honour accorded by personnel of Manipur Rifles and India Reserve Battalion.
Ajay Kumar Bhalla has assumed the charge of the office of Governor of Manipur with effect from the forenoon of 3rd of January 2025. He had arrived here on Thursday.
